Pewter is a malleable metal alloy. Copper and Antimony act as hardeners while Lead is common in the lower grades of Pewter. It has a melting point, around 338 – 446 F ( 170 – 230 C ), depending on the exact mixture.
Handles are made with tagua (also known as vegetable ivory) this seed comes from the Phytelephas Macrocarpa palm tree found in Ecuador subtropical region. The tagua is polished and dyed with natural inks.
